Hurling is a physical sport involving hurleys, sliotars, collisions and other hazards. Serious injuries may occur even when protective equipment is worn correctly.
A faceguard does not eliminate the risk of injury. Potential injuries include, but are not limited to, facial fractures, eye injuries, dental injuries, lacerations and head injuries.
Customers must not treat a faceguard as a guarantee of protection or use it as a substitute for properly certified, compatible protective equipment.
Replacement faceguards may not be compatible with every helmet. Attaching a replacement faceguard may alter the helmet's original manufactured configuration, affect its protective performance, compromise its structural integrity, or cause it to fail to meet applicable safety requirements.
Customers must verify compatibility and suitability with the original helmet manufacturer and relevant safety authorities before purchase, installation or use.
Faceguard World represent that a replacement faceguard will not preserve the original helmet's certification or protective characteristics.
The GAA requires hurling players to wear a helmet with a facial guard meeting IS 355 or an applicable replacement standard determined by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI). GAA guidance also states that helmets must not be modified from their original manufactured state.
Purchasing or installing a replacement faceguard will result in a helmet being unsuitable for GAA use and no longer complying with applicable requirements. Customers are responsible for checking current competition rules and obtaining confirmation of compliance before use.
Faceguard World guarantees that none of their products are accepted by the GAA, any club, school, competition organiser, referee or insurance scheme.
Faceguard World sells attachable replacement hurling faceguards. Unless expressly stated and supported by valid documentation, these products are not certified to IS 355, approved by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or independently verified as suitable for use in GAA hurling matches or training sessions.
Customers must not assume that a faceguard is certified, approved, compatible with a particular helmet, or suitable for sporting use simply because it is offered for sale.
Customers must inspect their faceguard and its attachment points before each use. Do not use a product that is damaged, deformed, loose, corroded or otherwise suspected of being unsafe.
Discontinue use immediately if a product is damaged, becomes loose, is involved in a significant impact, or raises any concern about its safety.
By purchasing a product, customers acknowledge that they have been informed that a replacement faceguard will not be certified, GAA-approved or compatible with their existing helmet.
Customers are responsible for verifying the product's suitability and the relevant requirements before use.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Faceguard World excludes liability for loss or damage arising from circumstances for which it may lawfully exclude liability, including loss resulting from misuse, use with an incompatible helmet, or use contrary to applicable safety requirements, to the extent such exclusion is legally effective.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability, statutory consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable Irish or European Union law.
Customers should contact Faceguard World before purchasing if they require clarification regarding product specifications, compatibility, certification or intended use.
Customers must not rely on assumptions about safety certification or compatibility that are not expressly supported by the relevant product documentation.
Faceguard World recommends that customers obtain confirmation of product compatibility and applicable safety requirements before installing or using any replacement faceguard.
Faceguard World, under no circumstances, takes any responsibility or liability for any death or injury that occurs when wearing any of our products.
Our products do not meet any safety requirements. It should not be taken that they provide any protection in games or training, and they are worn fully at the user's risk.
